I know so many of you ladies can relate to the dreaded thyroid fatigue! It is NO joke! You are just thoroughly exhausted. So I wanted to bring some things that will hopefully this will help guide you on what to do next. Some of these can even help naturally boost your thyroid and keep your thyroid healthy.
In this video I will discuss:
* Why you need a full thyroid panel
* How lab reference ranges aren't optimal
* How stress plays a role in a slow thyroid
So one of the big one that should be addressed is thyroid labs. Unfortunately, most doctors will just check TSH. TSH is obviously super important for thyroid function. You need to see what's going on there, but it's not the only one. I need to see a full lab. So we're talking TSH, Free T3, Free T4, reverse T3, and the thyroid antibodies.
The other thing is lab reference ranges are really not optimal. They're not functional. It does not help people feel better. You really need more functional ranges as this will help to control the thyroid with treatment.
Also, are you on the correct thyroid medication? That's a huge one. If you have a conversion issue (converting inactive T4 to active T3), then taking something like Synthroid will not help you much since this only has T4 in it. This is not the best way to keep your thyroid healthy!
Are you under a lot of stress? The thyroid and the adrenals are interconnected? When one's off, the other one eventually typically gets off as well. So if you're super fatigued from the thyroid, you need to assess your stress levels.
Are you eating a lot of processed foods? They are notorious for just slowing your body down overall since it's hard to break that down and get it out of your body. It's not normal for your body to have it. So the thyroid will eventually react to this. Eating more whole and natural foods is the best way to help the thyroid.
