The journey to parenthood can be an adventure with many twists and turns along the way. Understanding the intricate link between fertility and optimal thyroid function can lend great insight along your journey.
Nestled in the neck, a role of the thyroid gland is to direct the hormones responsible for metabolism and reproductive function. WIth less than optimal thyroid function the path to conception can be altered. And that is just why it is so important to optimize thyroid function on your pre conception journey.
When it comes time to build your family there are some important things that you should know. Impaired thyroid function can cause a myriad of challenges when it comes to conceiving and sustaining a healthy pregnancy including menstrual irregularities, anovulation, as well as compromised egg quality and unsuccessful implantation.
So, are you ready to bring a little baby into this world? Let’s get to know a little more about your thyroid health and how we can optimize it. First things first, it is time to get a full thyroid panel. TSH is not enough! We want to look at TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, TPO antibodies, and TgAb antibodies. There is a good chance we also want to dive deeper and look further into your hormones, minerals, and gut health. Afterall, it is all connected!
Taking a medication will not optimize your thyroid health. What it can do is help you manage the disease. The key to optimal health is incorporating other factors that include nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, sleep, stress management, and so much more. All of this is wrapped inside my program The Sexy Thyroid Solution, where I work with women in all phases of life. But, there is nothing more rewarding than having one of my clients share that they received a positive pregnancy test. I seriously beam from ear to ear!
If you are ready for some help, guidance, and support along your journey, set up a call and let’s dive in. I can’t wait to chat!
Angela Brown
Hi, I am Angela Brown. I wasn’t always as health-conscious as I am today. I’ve always had an interest in sports and working out, but living a healthy lifestyle was a battle for me. I didn’t eat the best and burned the candle at both ends. I became interested in the healthcare field in high school when I took my first anatomy class. It was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career related to the body and how it functioned. After I graduated high school, I earned a degree in Physical Therapy. I worked in outpatient orthopedic and sports clinics for 8 years but at that point, I knew I wanted something more. I became certified in personal training and then went on to get certified in health coaching. My passion for nutrition and lifestyle change began to grow even more when I was struggling with my own health issues. I became certified in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition to get more answers for myself and to help my clients even gain control of their health. I have set out on a mission to help with women overcome hypothyroidism so they can lose weight and get their sexy back.
