Oral health triggers for Hashimoto's Disease

Oral health triggers for Hashimoto's Disease

When you think about your health, do you consider what is happening inside of your mouth?

It took me a long time to fully understand this connection, but upon learning it, it just makes sense.

When we think about the autoimmune response in Hashimoto’s disease, we immediately know that inflammation is present.  The mouth is one of the most prevalent sources of chronic low-grade inflammation in the body.

Looking inside the mouth will give us so much more information in regards to your overall health.

Some important things to look for:

  • Gum and Periodontal Disease

  • Dental Infections

  • Root Canal Treated Teeth

  • Oral Care Products

  • Mercury Fillings

  • Incompatible Dental Materials

  • Chronically Inflamed/Infected Tonsils

I know this list can appear daunting, especially if you have more than one concern listed.  So, start small and make some impactful actions for your health.

If you just start by swapping out your oral care products you are off to a good start.

Look for the ingredients and toss anything that contains fluoride, SLS, and triclosan.  Did you know fluoride actually inhibits thyroid function? And the other 2 are endocrine disruptors that wipe out beneficial bacteria.

Some of my favorite oral care products are from
Risewell and you can use code: ANGELABROWN10 for 10 % off your whole order.

Make sure you follow along for more ways to optimize your oral health and thyroid function!

Angela Brown

Hi, I am Angela Brown. I wasn’t always as health-conscious as I am today. I’ve always had an interest in sports and working out, but living a healthy lifestyle was a battle for me. I didn’t eat the best and burned the candle at both ends. I became interested in the healthcare field in high school when I took my first anatomy class. It was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career related to the body and how it functioned. After I graduated high school, I earned a degree in Physical Therapy. I worked in outpatient orthopedic and sports clinics for 8 years but at that point, I knew I wanted something more. I became certified in personal training and then went on to get certified in health coaching. My passion for nutrition and lifestyle change began to grow even more when I was struggling with my own health issues. I became certified in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition to get more answers for myself and to help my clients even gain control of their health. I have set out on a mission to help with women overcome hypothyroidism so they can lose weight and get their sexy back.
