What the heck does eating clean mean?

What the heck does eating clean mean?

January 25, 20222 min read

The term "clean eating" has become very popular in the health community, especially when it comes to weight loss and a slow thyroid.

Clean eating is a diet pattern that focuses on fresh, whole foods. This lifestyle can be easy and enjoyable as long as you follow a few general guidelines.

Someone who suffers from hypothyroidism absolutely knows that eating foods that aren't "clean" and "healthy" will make them feel pretty miserable and even cause weight gain.

If you have a sluggish thyroid (or have even been diagnosed with hypothyroidism), I would take extra care to watch what you are eating. Weight gain is such a common symptom with a slow thyroid (or hypothyroidism).

Do you try to eat clean the majority of the time?

Watch this video to learn:
* Why it is important to eat cleaner
* What does clean eating actually mean
* What you can do to lose weight by eating cleaner

Clean eating doesn't have anything to do with food being clean or dirty.
It simply involves choosing minimally processed, real foods that provide maximal nutritional benefits. This will make your body (especially your thyroid) happy!  The idea is to consume foods that are as close to their natural state as possible.

Eating clean isn't easy....I get that. But your metabolism (and your thyroid) will be happier with a cleaner eating style.

I hope you learned a thing or two from why it is so important to learn what healthy eating looks, especially if you suffer from a slow thyroid! Symptoms of a slow thyroid are no fun so I highly recommend you to do your best to nourish it with clean and healthy foods.

Angela Brown

Hi, I am Angela Brown. I wasn’t always as health-conscious as I am today. I’ve always had an interest in sports and working out, but living a healthy lifestyle was a battle for me. I didn’t eat the best and burned the candle at both ends. I became interested in the healthcare field in high school when I took my first anatomy class. It was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career related to the body and how it functioned. After I graduated high school, I earned a degree in Physical Therapy. I worked in outpatient orthopedic and sports clinics for 8 years but at that point, I knew I wanted something more. I became certified in personal training and then went on to get certified in health coaching. My passion for nutrition and lifestyle change began to grow even more when I was struggling with my own health issues. I became certified in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition to get more answers for myself and to help my clients even gain control of their health. I have set out on a mission to help with women overcome hypothyroidism so they can lose weight and get their sexy back.
