Have you ever been told that you have high cholesterol but never had your thyroid addressed? Or was never told there was a connection? Then you must watch this video. I discuss the connection between a slow thyroid and cholesterol and what you should do about it.
In my new video I discuss:
* What cholesterol has to do with the thyroid
* Why a statin may cause issues with your hormones
* What cholesterol is actually needed for
Having a slow thyroid can be difficult to address but having high cholesterol with it can make it even more difficult. Unfortunately most people are just thrown onto a statin without ever looking at the thyroid! And I see women all the time who end up with worse thyroid symptoms and hormone issues. The thyroid hormone effects are also prevalent when someone has been taking a statin without ever having their thyroid addressed.
It is so common to see weight gain, fatigue, hair falling out, and the typical symptoms of low thyroid in women when they are put on a statin. And you may or not have a hypothyroidism diagnosis but so often women don't even know that they have a slow thyroid when they have elevated cholesterol.
Sometimes the missing link with your cholesterol could just be an underlying thyroid issue with chronically elevated TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone.) You must get a thorough test to rule it out.
So what can you do? How do you find out the connection? I will show you in this video!
I hope you learned a thing or two from why it is so important to keep digging when you have elevated cholesterol show up on your blood test results. You must check out the thyroid so you can address any of the typical symptoms that you may have with hypothyroidism even if you aren't sure why you are having those symptoms.
