I have seen so many women that are so worried or nervous to talk about their struggles with their health. And also seen people passing judgment when they do speak up about their healing journey. I've been kind of criticized and made fun of at times and things like that because of me just working on myself and me wanting to be healthy.
So every single person, whether you're male or female, but especially females, females are really critical of each other. I see it a lot working in the gym business. I see it definitely with working with women. It is very, very easy to not be compassionate for women who are going through certain things.
One thing that I do find a lot is the women that I work with a lot are going through a lot with either difficulty with weight loss, fatigue, and hormone issues....so a lot of hypothyroid stuff. They don't want to talk about it because they're afraid they're going to get judged. They're afraid they're going to get told that they are just doing a pity party.
Unfortunately, I have been told this myself. So you just kind of shut down. You stop talking and that is the worst thing you can do. So I like to talk to my female clients and just reiterate to them that it's okay to talk about it. That it's okay to say that you don't feel good. It's okay to say that you know, you're having issues with certain things with your body.
It's ALWAYS okay to talk about it. Find someone who will listen because I've been there too! I have had many, many days of tears and sadness because I felt like I couldn't talk about not being able to lose weight or that I could barely get out of bed because I was too exhausted because my thyroid was completely shut down!
In this video I will discuss:
* The importance of not passing judgment
* Don't be afraid to get a support system
* How using a support system can actually keep your thyroid happy and prevent your hypothyroidism from getting worse
I hope you learned a thing or two why talking about your struggles with your health (especially your thyroid) is so important. Hopefully, it has helped you to prioritize keeping your thyroid healthy so that you can be sane, energized, and that you can find the solutions to your health problems.
What is your story? I would love to hear from you!
